Review #6474565 "Beautiful Vacation Villa"

This beautiful beach villa with pool is by far the best accommodations we have ever had. It is really gorgeous. The house itself is spacious, clean and well appointed. The downstairs bedrooms are air-conditioned and the family room doors open wide for a spectacular view of the pool and the ocean. It’s completely private. We snorkeled off the beach and watched the dolphin play. It was very peaceful and relaxing. Yes, there are chickens running around, but that’s life on the islands. The location is perfect, with the market, shops and restaurants all within walking distance, including the Moorea Pearl Resort and Spa. There's even a local fruit stand right across the street, where we bought passion fruit and rambutan (red, hairy fruit, and it’s delicious). We had coconuts from the trees at the villa, but the mangos were out of season. Insects are always a problem for me, I’m a mosquito magnet. But the owner, Laurence recommended a local insect repellant, called Heiva Stop Insectes, and I didn’t a problem. We found it at the market, along with the coils that we kept burning inside the house and one by the back doors and we were fine. Mosquito problem solved. Laurence was wonderful and very accommodating. She picked us up and took us back to the ferry terminal even though they were both very early in the morning. She suggested several great restaurants, like the Moorea Beach Café, and helped us rent a scooter so we could see the whole island. She even made the reservation for us at Coco Beach, because we had a hard time getting through on the phone. Local activities that I would suggest are the ATV tour that we found in Maharepa. I don’t know the name of it, but it’s right across the street from the Moorea Beach Café, and the owner’s name is Damon. The other activity would be the Lagoonarium. It’s very touristy, but still worth seeing. Do some research on it before going. And the Sofitel is a must for drinks and snorkeling. My husband and I have been to many beautiful islands in the South Pacific and the Caribbean, and we’ve stayed in the over-the-water bungalows on Moorea and Bora Bora, but we would chose this villa over all other accommodations for the reasons I’ve mentioned and many more. THANK YOU SO MUCH MOLLY B. :-)
